To seperate the VDSL2 signal from the telephone requires either a VDSL splitter in the NID or filters at each telephone. Usually the DSL service provider will install provide a VDSL2 modem , cables, and xDSL filters. Using a splitter / NID may cost a little more but the performance is ALWAYS better than using DSL filters. The VDSL signal gets "split " at the demarcation point (where the phone line enters your house). After it enters the house it uses its own cable (CAT5 or better) and runs directly to the modem. It does not use any of your phone wiring (which is a good thing) because house wiring varies greatly in quality... ~ NEW PRODUCT ~
97FB-S - VDSL POTS Splitter Module with VDSL Output on Coax Port
The Tii 97FB-S VDSL POTS Splitter Module splits the combined voice and data signal carried on telephone lines. The POTS output is provided on a dual IDC connector, and VDSL output on a 75 ohm female "F" coax connector The balanced twisted pair input signal is impedance matched to a single ended coax VDSL output which is lowpass filtered to 8.5MHz, allowing for coexistence with 12-28MHz HPNA signals on a single coax wire. The Tii 97FB-S module also provides the Tii AutoJack®, a switchable RJ11 jack, as the customer demarcation point.
Delivering broadcast quality video and video services over VDSL2 networks is not easy. Video interruption can occur during telephone ringing and telephone on-hook/off-hook cycles in installations using low-quality filters.
